Garden Valley Planting Compost is a 100% natural planting mix used for improving the performance of any soil when transplanting both potted plants and container stock. Rich in valuable microorganisms and minerals, Planting Compost will help promote plant growth and healthy root development. It is a balanced blend of organic humus, manure compost, peat moss, sand, volcanic pumice and perlite.

For transplanting, blend with existing soil half and half in an area at least twice the size of the plant's root ball. Mound a portion of the final blend in the middle of the hole and place the root ball on top. Loosen roots and fill into area around root mass with remaining soil blend, pressing firmly in place. Water thoroughly and allow to drain.

Planting Compost may also be used as an all purpose soil amendment to improve poor heavy soils. Till or work in 2 to 4 inches of mix into 4 to 8 inches of existing soil for general planting of outdoor flowers and bulbs. Planting Compost may also be used in vegetable gardens that need improved soil structure and workability.

We recommend that you maintain a regular fertilizing program and always follow water, fertilizer and light requirements of your individual plants.
