Garden Valley Mushroom Compost is a naturally rich organic soil amendment for use in all outdoor gardens and flower beds, or as a topdress humus for moisture retention. Mushroom Compost is a blend of Canadian sphagnum peat moss, horse and chicken manure, cottonseed and soybean meal, gypsum and lime.

Till or work in 2 to 4 inches of Mushroom Compost into 4 to 6 inches of existing soil to create a light and workable garden soil. It is best to use when an all organic peat base mix is desired, particularly in raised bed gardens where the soil needs to be light and loose.

Mushroom Compost should be applied and worked into existing soil in late fall or early spring prior to planting, but may be used as a topdress mulch between garden rows for better moisture retention and plant nutrition during the growing season.
