Filthy Rich Steer Compost is a naturally rich organic soil amendment for use in all outdoor gardens and flower beds, or as a topdress mulch. Steer Compost is composed of steer and other barnyard manures with organic humus.

The primary use for Steer Compost is for amending poor garden soils. We recommend that you till or work in 2 to 4 inches of Steer Compost into 4 inches of existing soil to create an ideal garden bed. Use Steer Compost when an all organic mix is desired.

Steer Compost is recommended for vegetable and flower beds, and most ideal for plants requiring a more neutral pH soil. Steer Compost should be applied and worked into existing soil prior to planting, but may be used as a topdress mulch between garden rows.

When used as a topdress for lawns, aerate the soil with a plug aerator prior to a 1/2 to 3/4 inch application of Steer Compost over the surface. Back rake the compost down into the lawn and plug holes, then water thoroughly. Topdressing your lawn will improve the soil structure, reduce compaction and provide, more oxygen for the grass roots. Consistent care of your soil year after year will reward you with a beautiful and healthy Iawn.
