  1. Apply Fertilizer: Evenly spread the fertilizer over the entire lawn area using a broadcast spreader. Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding the recommended application rate for your lawn size. Fertilizer provides essential nutrients that support healthy grass growth and development.

  2. Topdress with Soil: Once the fertilizer is applied, spread a thin layer of soil evenly over the lawn using a shovel or lawn spreader. The soil will help improve soil structure, retain moisture, and provide a stable base for the grass seed to germinate. Aim for a depth of around 1/4 to 1/2 inch of topdressing soil.

  3. Overseed the Lawn: Using a broadcast spreader or a handheld seed spreader, evenly distribute the grass seed over the prepared soil surface. Adjust the spreader settings according to the recommended seeding rate on the seed packaging. Pay extra attention to thin or bare areas, ensuring even coverage.

  4. Water Thoroughly: After overseeding, water the lawn thoroughly to ensure the soil and seeds are adequately moistened. Use a gentle spray or sprinkler system to avoid disturbing the newly applied seed. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged to promote germination.

  5. Monitor and Maintain: Keep an eye on the newly overseeded areas and continue to water regularly, especially during dry periods. Avoid mowing the lawn until the new grass reaches a height of 2-3 inches to allow the seedlings to establish. Once the grass is established, resume regular lawn maintenance practices, including mowing, watering, and fertilizing as needed.

Premium Soil: Bark, compost, peat moss.
